Wow, that really brought back memories of my childhood seeing these! Saturday morning down to the sweet shop with my 20p pocket money.
    Loved the fizzy ones too.

In the summer holidays from school when I only had enough money for sweets or a drink I used to buy these and pretend they were real bottles of pop and that I was a giant. Ahh imaginary thirst quenchers how I’ve missed ye!

I love these sweets so much! I used to get cravings for them at weird times, like midnight, and make my father go out to buy me some! Not had them in years though, I’d forgotten all about them.

  7. Claire says:

These were not my favourite but a close 2nd to the Fruit salad. My sister and I used to bite the top off and pretend to drink the cola. Sucking them is the best way to eat a cola bottle, it lasts so much longer. A firm favourite with my kids.

  8. Nikki says:

I remember eating so many of these once that they made me so ill. But I still had to eat more of them to finish the rather big packet of them I had. Fizzy ones are good too. 🙂 fantastic website this is for childhood memories. I love the sweets from when we were little in the 70’s/80’s

Ah where do i begin, Cola Bottles are just the best. Ever since growing up, i used to always go for the cola bottles in the penny sweet section, they are just the best, and always will be the best. Cant wait till my little niece or nephew who is due next month is old enough to start eating them 😀 hehe

  21. Marian Coburn says:

I love cola bottles as they remind me of the long hot summers we used to get back in the late 70’s. They just remind me so much of long days spent cycling about with my mates, playing at the park and roller skating round the streets. Back then if you had 5p you were rich and could get loads of sweeties! Me and my mates used to either bite the top off the cola bottle and ‘drink’ it, imagining it was a real bottle of coke… There was no way we could ever afford to buy the real thing! Or we would suck the cola bottle and see who could make theirs last the longest. Ah the good old days!! 😀

  22. Tracey says:

I love cola bottles!! At the moment my boyfriend lives in Florida and I’m still in the UK. I took him some cola bottles on a recent trip and he absolutely loved them and now I have to ship some out for him lol

I love these little cola bottles and have done since i was little. My nan and grandad owned a sweet shop near hampton court back in the 1960`s and 70`s and i was allowed to choose a bag of sweets whenever i went to visit them. My favourites were always cola bottles and sometimes milk bottle gums and whenever i eat these i am fondly reminded of my nan and grandad in their little shop xxx

I remember getting the fizzy version of these in the paper mix bags and trying to scratch off all of the sour sugar before i could eat them. I always ended up getting it under my nails and would no doubt end up looking like i had just sucked a lemon when i forgot. When i found out they came without the sour fizz you can imagine the excitement

  38. Oliver Gadsby says:

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm… Not only an old classic, but an old friend ^ ^ These glorious sweets have been gobbled up by myself for years! Yet the fondest time was when I was a wee tot. my quaint family and the cute 6 year old version of me, speeding down the motorway, heading home from the beach on a warm afternoon. We pulled up at an old ECCO garage, by this time I was nearly asleep because I had been messing around in the sea like a hungry Panda to bamboo (Random yet true ;P). We started on our way when my mum came back from the shop so yet again, we’re speeding down the motorway and I hear a crisp rattle as my mum turns round from the front passenger seat and says “Lil’ Ollie, looky at what mumma’s goooooooot!?” My eyes lit up like a Christmas tree! I was so happy as I ate those sumptuous sweets while looking out of the back window of our old Ford Orion. Very memorable orange sky 🙂 13 years later and I still love them just as much 😀 Ollie.

  39. jon says:

  41. Hannah B says:

I still at 34 cannot eat one without biting the ‘cap’ of and pretending to drink it, and still be disappointed that coke doesn’t come out of the tiny bottle!! Shhh it’ll be our secret!

  42. Elliott says:

I’m having a terrible week…. Gas Meter failed so had no hot water and heating… I have an abscess under my smashed up wisdom tooth.. My mate was almost wiped out by an idiot Green Jaguar this afternoon (I will share the cola bottles with him if I win)

    That’s all for now…

    Elliott
