These are delicious! These scream of the days when sweets were sold from humungous jars (I just caught the end of this era as a kid). A massive jar of these just looks beautiful and a perfect present *nudge nudge wink wink*.

My memories of these are of them being a classic ‘shut up sweet’ to be deployed by irate parents on a long car journey 🙂

  2. Jenny Jones says:

I’ve just had tonsilitis and now have a throat infection, boiled sweets are all that is helping at the moment! I need these!!

  3. Stephanie Green says:

Ummm I haven’t had these since I left school many years ago.
I always bought a quater of them and would suck them in class.

  4. Jody Whiting says:

Well, I don’t really want to win these because I know my lovely beautiful intelligent daughter really likes them and would eat them all day if she could (and in fact is probably eating them now when she should be in bed) but since I’m a caring and forgiving father (and I am definitely not my daughter pretending to be me) I’m gonna say that she deserves these sweets because she managed a whole day without attracting flies…

Rosy Apples give me rosy cheeks, as I smile at the thought of the delicious sweets. They are perfect for a summers day, the fruity goodness lightens the shades of grey. They are the retro sweet of the week, which is my silver lining as i’m a sweetie geek.

  53. Kirsty Common says:

I just love rosy apples. Especially when u leave them to dissolve in a bottle of vodka then drink it. Extra scrummy!

  54. Laura says:

    Rosy apples: sweet and skittish
    Unmistakeable and classically British
Much like rain, and Pimms at noon
Or queuing for cider at Wetherspoons…

But what sets apart these fruity spheres
Are the memories that bring good cheer
And who could need good cheer more
Than a bad poet in a candy store?

So, whilst I’m not looking for your pity
I’d like some recognition for this ditty
I should be working but my conscience grapples
With a world more rosy; how do you like them apples?!

  55. Heather Shaw says:

An apple a day may keep the doctor away, but a pack of sweets a day will means the dentist shall play!! 😉
