My fave seaside treat was always hot donuts and still is today, not very retro I know but they are just soo good they never stopped making them. As a cash strapped teen who’d just started to drive we used to scraped together a few pound each put some petrol in car and drive to the seafront 20 miles away just for donuts! haha My children love these lollies tho, and get in such a mess!

I used to get 50p pocket money when I was a child and I always used to get a 50p penny mix bag from the ice-cream van. I used to get shrimps, fruit salads, black jacks, lemon sherbert’s, liquorice whips, flying saucers, cola bottles, a massive bag as they were 1p each or some were 2 for 1p back then 🙂 If I got extra money I used to get an everlasting gobstopper it was HUGE and kept me quiet for at least 4 hours!!! hmmmm thats probably why I got them quite often from my mum and dad LOL
