    My favourite sweets are aniseed balls followed by aniseed balls and followed again by aniseed balls. My grandparents got me hooked on them at an early age and I am glad they did <3

    The absolute weekly highlight of my childhood was taking my pocket money to the village sweet shop every Sunday morning and laboriously adding up the ultimate combination of penny chews, flying saucers, sherbet fountains… with the lovely patient lady behind the counter opening jar after jar as I figured out the best way to stretch my shillings to get the fullest little paper bag possible!
