I promised my Gran every week when I was a nipper that I’ll keep eating plenty of ‘fruit’ and all my ‘salads’ so I’d grow up strong and healthy and believe me I kept that promise 😉 – I’m not sure it’s what she had in mind, but I always was her little sweetie..

Fruit Salads – 1/2p each, and I spent all my pocket money on these bad boys. I prefered them to Black Jacks because they didn’t give you away by turning your mouth black.

  24. kirsty hinett says:

Although fruit salads are extremely tastey their consistency is quite the same as black jacks…now i have no problem with this, Mick, my step dad however pinched one of my black jacks that you kindly sent and his recently filled tooth came out!! Oh dear…guess thats karma 🙂

I absolutely adore fruit salads this was my favourite sweet growing up as a child and find it so hard to track them down it was the first thing i ate out of my chewbz that my mum recently ordered for me and they were gone within seconds of being opened. Whenever i think of them it makes my mouth water.

i absolutley adore fruit salads. They were my favourite sweet as a child growing up and still are to this day. Except i find them really hard to track down. i was mortified when i went to the orthodontist and he told me not to eat chewy sweets and i thought stuff it and headed straight down to my local newsagent to buy a bag of my favourite sweets (fruit salads) of course!!!

    Amazing 🙂

  35. Ella Salvato says:

Fruit Salads. I couldn’t think of a better name for my favourite sweets. Fruit Salads it’s genius! My mum is always telling me to eat more fruit, so when she asks me where all the money she is giving me is going! I just tell her I know this great place that sells Fruit Salads!

the one thing i liked more about fruit salads over blackjacks was that you could safely show your tongue off afterwards, still one of the greatest sweets ever (mind you blackjacks were more fun cause of the tongue colour)
