Retro sweet of the week!

September 27th, 2010

This weeks Retro sweet of the week is a little bit like Marmite. You really do love ‘em or hate ‘em!

On one hand this is a true British classic but on the other, it tastes kinda like perfume.

Of course, it could only be…

Parma Violets

Parma Violets!

The more mature and refined (or just plain weird) companion to the Fizzer, this retro sweet certainly divides opinion.

We even hear that some crazy people are making Parma Violet ice cream and milkshakes!

A quick poll of the Chewbz office reveals that Dom is the only true Parma Violet fan. He reckons that these floral sweets are up there with the best… The rest of our palettes are clearly a little less refined.

What do YOU think?

Do we have any more Parma Violet fans out there, or do you really hate them

As always, tell us what you think about this weeks Retro sweet of the week, and our favourite comment will win a prize!

Stinky girls sweets! If you were caught eating these in Grimsby you may as well have been caught eating pink wafer biscuits. Real boys ate 2 refreshers at once or a whole pack of fizzers or bazooka joe spoggy. Parma violets were for people who played with dolls.

  3. I love Parma Violets. I especially liked it when you took out the bigger version of them, as before you could only get the little packets which didn’t go very far.
