Hello Chewbz fans, hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend
.
Now here’s something to help sweeten up your back to work blues… our retro-tastic Sweet of the week!
After the popularity of last weeks sugary classic, we thought we’d remind you of another treat you were sure to spend your pocket money on.
These yellow packets are instantly recognisable with that bright red lolly tempting you on the front.
This weeks Retro sweet of the week is, of course…
Dip Dabs!
Mmm haven’t these been around forever? Our childhood memories are just full of those juicy lollies and lemony sherbet yumminess!
What sweet memories do these retro sweets bring back for you? Tell us and you could WIN some Dip Dabs of your own!
Just leave a comment on this post, before 9am next Monday 6th June, to be in with the chance of winning. Our favourite comment, as voted for at Chewbz HQ, will get their hands on the Dip Dabs!
Yummy!

Good old Dib Dabs! I has these a lot less than I really wanted to when I was a kid. Purely because my sister always choose this as her favourite sweet and would get it every week, and as a brother I couldn’t possibly be seen to be liking anything that my sister liked too! So I’d get a sherbert fountain and loudly exclaim how much better it was to have a licquorice straw than a little lolly, this was a lie!

Ah these bring back memories and my mam taking me and my cousin to the shop as a kid, we always use to be allowed to choose 1 sweet, a bag of crisps and a drink each, I always used to get Sherbert Dib-Dabs. Ah memories!

I still love these so much that a couple of years ago, I bought a couple of boxes of them from a Cash and Carry. Hid them in my clothes drawers and managed to eat every single one without my husband noticing
Sneaky sweet eating is a real skill!

Dib Dabs remind me of the school disco tuckshop back in the days when you could get sweets from them still haha. they were my favourite sweet in the 80’s and every time i see them now they still remind me of being a kid.

Oh my goodness. I’m suddenly 8 again, being very grown up and walking to the shop on my own to buy the new copy of Beano and a dip dab! I used to hide away for hours in my little clubhouse at the bottom of my parent’s garden reading and dippy-dabbing my way through the Summer holidays. My nickname for YEARS as a teen was Sherby as I refused to give this sweet up!

Ahhhhh Dib dabs, my Mum used to buy us one on a Friday after school as a treat. I always ate the lolly before the sherbet ran out and then had to tip the pack up to my mouth, which inevitably made it go all over my uniform -at least it was Friday !!

Went back to my home town yesterday – the corner shop has gone, but the sherbet lemon taste of Barratt’s Dib Dabs is still there!

OMG – My auntie was absolutely addicted to these when she was pregnant. She always reckoned she fizzled through it all and her daughter really was a little sweetie !

When i was a young and cheeky,
(some would say a little herbert)
i loved the lemony sourness
of some face squinting sherbert.
A Dip-Dap was just perfect,
and it made me rather jolly,
as it came with the extra sweetness of,
a juicy strawberry lolly.

when I was a kid my friend dared me to pour a pack of dib dab into my mouth and then take a large swig of coke. Just as I did it she squeezed my cheeks together, my head looked like a garden sprinkler – it came out of my nose ‘n’ everything.
